KEYWORDS Electoral Act, Margin of lead principle, Election, Constitution, INEC’s Regulations and Guidelines for the conduct of Elections. INTRODUCTION Amidst the vibrant tapestry of democracy, one timeless element reigns supreme: the sacrosanct ritual of elections. Nowhere is this revered practice more evident than in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, where it finds its rightful place in the very heart of the Constitution. Truly, the Constitution stands as “the fons et origo,” an unwavering beacon of governance and the “grundnorm”—the bedrock upon which the entire legal framework takes form, meaning and origin from. MY LOVE EXPERIENCE 2 'Do you believe in fate?'

When I gained admission into the university, guess what? I saw someone from my past. Guess who it was? School was about to resume session for the first semester so I went to school almost everyday to make enquiries about the fees that I’m meant to pay and also I wanted to be familiar with the environment so that I’ll know my way around the school. Rivers State University is a state owned university in Nigeria and I gained admission there to study law. For those of you who may not understand or know where Nigeria is located ; Nigeria is a country in Africa. It is made up of blacks who were colonized by the British, educated and are working towards becoming a better country. Nigeria is made up of states (36 states + Abuja, which is the capital) and Rivers state is one of them. I am from Rivers State actually and that’s where my school is located. Now back to my experience… As I was about to leave the school premises through the gate behind the school, I caught a glimpse of an Angel. I was startled when I saw her, starring at her forgetting that I was standing on the road. Our eyes met but she looked away swiftly. I was still gazing at the “beautiful creature of God”, wondering if it was really her or maybe my mind was playing a prank on me. Do u believe in faith? How is it possible that the girl that has been in my heart is right here in front of me at this point in time? What if I hadn’t taken this direction? Well, if you must know, I do believe in faith. After a while, she noticed that I was still staring at her so she turned back to look at me again. I walked closer to her and she hugged me. The hug didn’t mean much anyway because it’s just how most of us in Nigeria say ‘hi’ to each other and besides, she didn’t even recognize me until I reminded her that we were classmates in secondary school. We exchanged numbers and she left. Later, that same day, I called her and we chatted a little, we laughed at certain things and that was it for that day. When we resumed, she was on my mind as I looked around if I could see her. I then decided to call her and when I did, she told me that she was on her way to school. Excited, I was keenly waiting to see her. Again, don’t misconstrue this my narration, viewing me as an unserious person (academically) okay? As a matter of fact, people who know me will find it hard to believe that I could have time for a girl. As time went on, we became more intimate. We knew about each other’s likes and dislikes, she laughed a lot at my jokes even though I wondered what was funny about them. The only thorn in my flesh was that she was seeing someone already. Although I was bothered about this, I still went close to her. After a while, they broke up and so I felt it was my chance but I was kinda scared to ask her out too. Remember, I’ve never really told a girl how I feel face-to-face before but for the first tim, I was willing to try. After exams, the both of us decided to take a stroll around school in the evening. We then sat on the grass at a corner and talked about random things. She didn’t know that I was fighting with myself whether I should or shouldn’t tell her. To make matters worse, she was leaning on my shoulder and I felt the softness of her neck on my shoulder and I could also feel her pulse as she talked to me slowly. At this point, my fear was “does she feel the same way?” “will she get upset if I tell her how I fell and then our relationship will be ruined?” It was getting late so I decided to walk her to her hostel. When her hostel was about to be locked, she wanted to leave and then I imagined that I could never get this opportunity again so I held her hand and started…I was literally shaking, I was stuttering and I was damn scared. However, I summoned the courage and started talking. She knew where I was heading and so she smiled and started looking into my eyes as I talked. She looked away sometimes, perhaps she was shy too. I eventually told her how I felt and that I’d like the both of us to date. She smiled…she then opted to give me an answer later but I was about to pee in my pants so I really wanted an answer immediately. She said a few things and pretended like she was going to reject but she said ‘yes’. Even after saying yes, she was still shy and so leaned unto her, going for a kiss. My heart beat was getting faster because I still didn’t know how reaction. The kiss was just how I imagined it would be, her lips were quite soft and moist. I don’t like the taste of lips stick but at that point, it didn’t matter. After our first kiss, we said our goodbyes and she went into her hostel. Guys! See I don’t know if u believe but I actually felt butterflies of love flying in my stomach and trust me, I slept well knowing that finally, she was mine.
